Travelling has been an integral part of the human civilization since time immemorial. Right from the start of society, nomads used to move from one part of the earth to another in pursuit of more awareness and information gathering. The same applies to the gypsies who are supposed to be of Romanian origin but have travelled to all parts of the world. Two befitting examples would be that of Christopher Columbus who in his quest for learning discovered what would later turn out to be the most prosperous continent of today, and Hueng Tsang who came to India and wrote some of the priceless memoirs about India to date.

Travelling is an inseparable part of a modern man’s life today. Gone are the days, when he can sit at the home and daydream about a jet setting future for him. One needs to travel far and wide seeking better educational and career prospects and if someone is in the corporate sector travelling has become a part of the job by either visits to the various branches or to channel distribution partners or even at the factories and plants. A corporate executive can thus augment his learning process in the practical fields of industry and trade and can no longer enjoy the comfort zones.

Travelling per se makes a man sprightlier and moulds him to face the uncomfortable terrain, the uncertain future and the unexpected things round the corner. Moreover, in the course of travelling to various places, a man has to stay at various types of dwellings, be it home stay, motel or budget hotels or even executive suites. He will meet various types of people; learn their habits, their nature, and their traits which will help him immensely to improve his social skills. Apart from these, he will get to learn a lot more about the place which he cannot gauge from any textbook.   These indeed go a long way in boosting the learning progression of a person and his personality development in total.

A man needs to be more organized and skillful when he has to plan for a travel. He needs to check in his itinerary, his modes of transportation, availability of tickets and other schedules. This sharpens his organisational skills, his zeal for target achievements which will go a long way in honing up his planning abilities.

Travelling is a very good confidence builder. A traveller gains more and more confidence as he goes out more often and can easily connect with the local people, local languages and local culture. This first-hand unforgettable experience will be engraved in any traveller’s mind forever.
