Sometimes you search for better career offers in LI and when you get bored,  you look into YT   for time to pass. You feel like communicating with your teacher or your boss, you DM.  You PM if the message is secret and classified. You mark NT and mail it to your friend if you find the pizza or the burger from a certain food joint you took is superb.

Confused? Bemused?  Be cool and chill. These are some examples of the social media abbreviations that the world is familiar with. If you ask any teenager or young person, they will vouch these social media acronyms are household terms today. Get familiar with these social media messages ASAP or else be left in the lurch and be an old timer

Roll up your sleeves and act fast!! Sooner or later these social media abbreviations will be an integral part of our everyday vocabulary.

Social media abbreviations and acronyms are a part of the dialect and day-to-day language usage today. Indeed they are also a part of digital marketing and digitalization. In this fast jet-setting world, one has to move with the trend and era. These languages and acronyms are becoming a natural step and a sign of the changing times. You will probably think that Shakespeare, Yeats, Wordsworth, Dickens, Milton or Chaucer would be turning into their graves, but this is what the current style in the social media abbreviation is !!

Let us take  a look  into some of these very common  social media acronyms

ADIDAS — No kidding. Do not think this is the brand name of the sports utility giant. This one came into being after the popularity of the ADIDAS soccer boots soared. In social media abbreviations and acronyms, phraseology means all day I  dream about soccer.

ABITHAD — This acronym is for those people who think of themselves as Mr Know It All. Another blithering idiot thinks he is a doctor.

DIET — Meant for those hard diet planners and gluttons on the other hand. Do I eat today?

FF — This social media acronym is for those top-shot corporate honchos and busy government officials who are flying in and out almost every day from one location to the other. Frequent flyers.

FLU — Now do not place a thermometer under your tongue thinking that you got a fever or something more than that! This means fluids leaking unstoppably.

LOL — This one is a super duper hit, used very much by the young and old alike and is already in the Oxford dictionary since 2011. This social media abbreviation and acronym originated in the 80s. Laugh out loud.

WFH — A very common, familiar and well-known acronym especially after the COVID period. Work from home has become a household name.

TEAM — This one is also great. The acronym and the meaning are in tandem with each other. Together everyone achieves more. Kudos to team spirit.

TEETH — A hilarious one, guessed right! Has a connection with the medicinal sector. Tried everything else. Try Homeopathy.

IDC —- A bit adamant and obstinate . I don’t care

BTW —  A ubiquitous social media abbreviation with universal usage. It is being used even now in official communications. By the way.

AFK —- This one again has widespread usage —- students, corporate people and computer buffs. Away from the keyboard.

KPIVery prevalent in the corporate world. Key performance indicators.

SEO — The most familiar used social media message and acronym today. Search engine Optimisation.

 URL — This one almost everybody using a digital device or a computer ought to know by heart. Uniform resource locator.

ISP/ ESP — Again a familiar acronym and social media abbreviation in today’s digital world. Internet service provider / Email service provider.

SMM – Anyone even connected with digital media marketing will know this one.The ultimate of social media messages. Social media marketing 

OOO – Not three zeroes. Out of office.

ZZZ — Sleeping, feeling lousy and bored,  tired. Sound sleep
