Bengal is a land of varied contrast and a magnificent amalgam of various cultures, languages caste, and creed apart from a rich blend of natural resources, natural vegetation, and bouquet from Mother Nature. The Himalayan range is at the north while the beautiful beaches along the Bay of Bengal adorn the southern areas of our state. Here are some offbeat locations of attraction described here.

  • Bakkhali —- If you want a place where you can imagine yourself to be disconnected from the tension of city life, the stress of jobs, and want complete peace and serenity with almost zero noise, Bakkhali is the ideal place. This place is now a world heritage site close to the Sunderbans. One can watch the casuarina trees gently swaying in the breeze and the beautiful rhythm of the waves as they roll on the beaches.
  • Taki Hasnabad —- An ideal haven of the natural beauty of rural Bengal, Taki is complete with idyllic surroundings and the River Icchamati. The place is just about 80 km from Kolkata. Bangladesh is just across the river. On Bijoya Dashami day Durga idols are immersed from both sides of the international border creating a perfect bonhomie atmosphere.
  • Junput —- The beach lies almost 40 km from Digha and is ideal for those holiday lovers who want to spend their leisurely time far from the crowd and in total seclusion. The beach does not remain crowded and the sight of casuarina trees gives the entire ambiance a striking view.
  • Garh Panchokot —- One cannot afford to miss this historical site very close to Purulia town. The place is dotted with centuries-old temples which lie at the foothills of Panchet hills or Panchkot as it is locally known. Visitors remain spellbound with this architectural splendor and the lush green hillocks in the background.
  • Duarsini —- If you have not seen Duarsini you will not believe that a tribal village near Bardhaman can be of such beauty and have a quaint landscape and surroundings. Comparatively a newer tourist spot, the pristine beauty of the place is enhanced by the Palash, Piyal, and the Shimul trees in full bloom
  • Chechuria —- Bankura town and district itself has got plenty of attractions to enjoy apart from Bishnupur. The latest to this list is Chechuria an artificial eco-sanctuary system that is a craze for nature lovers, the adventure-loving crowd, and the picnic revelers. One can find walking trails inside the sanctuary just like any other world-class eco-sanctuary.
  • Lepchajagat —- The place is very close to Kurseong Town, Mirik, Mirik Lake and Ghoom. Lepchaghat completes the ideal circuit of tourist attraction in this part of the Himalayas. One can enjoy the unfathomable beauty of the Kanchenjunga peak from here apart from the idyllic surroundings, the excellent weather conditions, and the photographable scenes of the hills.
  • Malancha —- Very near to Kolkata, Malancha is situated in Basirhat and is at the confluence of the two rivers Vidhyadhari and Icchaamati. One can have the finest and the largest varieties of fish here as the place boasts of having one of the biggest fish trading hubs of our state.
